Model Life Series 1999-2001 The Model Life series were made from used cardboard boxes to a scale similar to doll’s houses or architect’s models. Each was set upon a base like it’s own landscape or parcel of land. Other, real size objects were overlaid or inlaid into these models as a way of drawing out particular poetic associations. Rain, 2000, presents us with a seascape from a dizzying height that is contradicted by the proximity of real things - strings of pearls hovering somewhere between the surface of the image and the world we inhabit. |
